Alpheus Gifford

1793-1841
Alpheus Gifford (1793-1841) was born 28 Aug. 1793 in Adams, Berkshire Co., Massachusetts. He was the son of Samuel Noah Gifford and Mary Bowerman. He married Anna Nash on 27 Apr. 1817. He was baptized in 1831. He taught the gospel to Brigham Young and Heber Chase Kimball; the event was mentioned by Wilford Woodruff in his journal. He died 25 Dec. 1841 near Nauvoo, Hancock Co., Illinois.
