Charles Mason Hovey

Charles Mason Hovey (1810-1887) was born 26 Oct. 1810 in Cambridge, Middlesex Co., Massachusetts. He was the son of Phineas Brown Hovey and Sarah Stone. He married Anne Maria Chapouil on 25 Dec. 1835 in Cambridge. His name was mentioned in a letter written by Wilford Woodruff on 4 Feb. 1857 to Elders Amasa Mason Lyman and Charles Coulson Rich requesting they bring some Hovey seedlings to establish plant and food sources in the Utah Territory. He died 1 Sep. 1887 in Cambridge.
