David Glasgow Farragut

David Glasgow Farragut (1801-1870) was born 5 Jul. 1801 in Knox Co., Tennessee. He was the son of Jorge Mesquida Farragut and Elizabeth Shine. He married Susan Caroline Marchant about 1823 in Portsmouth, Norfolk Co., Virginia; widowed 28 Dec. 1840. He married Virginia Dorcas Loyall on 26 Dec. 1843 in Norfolk Co., Virginia. He died 14 Aug. 1870 in Portsmouth, Rockingham Co., New Hampshire. He was one of the eminent men for whom Wilford Woodruff initiated proxy temple ordinance work in Aug. 1877.
