Elizabeth Ann Smith Whitney

Elizabeth Ann Smith Whitney (1800-1882) was born 26 Dec. 1800 in Derby, New Haven Co., Connecticut. She was the daughter of Gibson Smith and Polly Bradley. She married Newel K. Whitney on 20 Oct. 1822, and they had fourteen children. She was baptized in 1830. She worked alongside Wilford Woodruff as she served in the Relief Society in Kirtland, Geauga Co., Ohio; in Nauvoo, Hancock Co., Illinois; and in Utah Territory. She died 12 Feb. 1882 in Salt Lake City, Salt Lake Co., Utah Territory.
