George Read

18 Sep 1733 - 21 Sep 1798

George Read (1734-1798) was born 18 Sep. 1734 in Cecil Co., Maryland, British Colonial America. He was the son of John Read and Mary Howell. He married Gertrude Ross on 11 Jan. 1763. He died 21 Sep. 1798 in New Castle Co., Delaware. He was a signer of the Declaration of Independence and one of the eminent men for whom Wilford Woodruff initiated proxy temple ordinance work in Aug. 1877.
