George Washington Thatcher

George Washington Thatcher (1840-1902) was born 1 Feb. 1840 in Springfield, Sangamon Co., Illinois. He was the son of Hezekiah Thatcher and Alena Kitchen. He married Luna Caroline Young in 1861; participated in plural marriage. He was baptized in Mar. 1856. He killed a mountain lion in California in 1872, which Wilford Woodruff wrote about in his journal, and he spoke in a meeting that Wilford Woodruff attended on 1 Jan. 1885. He died 23 Dec. 1902 in Cache Co., Utah.
