James Monroe
James Monroe (1758-1831) was born 28 Apr. 1758 in Westmoreland Co., Virginia, British Colonial America. He was the son of Andrew Spence Monroe and Elizabeth Jones. He married Elizabeth Kortright on 16 Feb. 1786 in New York City, New York Co., New York. He died 4 Jul. 1831 in New York City. He was one of the eminent men for whom Wilford Woodruff initiated proxy temple ordinance work in Aug. 1877.
