Joel Hawes
Joel Hawes (1788-1867) was born 22 Dec. 1788 in Medway, Norfolk Co., Massachusetts. He was the son of Joel Hawes and Phylidelphia Thayer. He married Loisa Fisher on 17 Jun. 1818 in Wrentham, Norfolk Co., Massachusetts. He was a Pastor and taught Sunday School to Wilford Woodruff when he attended of the First Church of Christ in Hartford, Hartford Co., Connecticut as a young man. He died 5 Jun. 1867 in Gilead, Tolland Co., Connecticut.
