He married Hannah Thacher on 30 May 1802 in Cheadle, Cheshire, England; widowed about Aug. 1827. He married Lois Frost on 6 Jul. 1828 in Astbury, Cheshire, England. He was baptized about 1840. He attended several conferences with Wilford Woodruff in 1840, 1841, and 1845, and Wilford assisted in his ordination to the office of Patriarch on 6 Apr. 1841. He died 2 Jun. 1849 in Ashton-under-Lyne, Lancashire, England.
