John Bills

1819-1850

John Bills (1819-1850) was born 19 Sep. 1819 in Blairsville, Indiana Co., Pennsylvania. He was the son of Alanson Bills. He married Elizabeth Scott about 1834; participated in plural marriage. He was baptized 10 Jul. 1836. He took Wilford Woodruff's team back to Missouri on 23 Nov. 1847 to obtain some wheat while the saints were living in Winter Quarters (later Omaha, Douglas Co., Nebraska). He died 19 Feb. 1850 at Pacheco Pass, San Joaquin River Valley, California Territory.
