John Henry P. McEwan
1824-1878
John Henry P. McEwan (1824-1878) was born 11 Feb. 1824 in Dromore, Co. Down, Ireland. He was the son of Henry McEwan and Jane Thompson. He married Amanda Melvina Higbee on 23 Dec. 1845 in Nauvoo, Hancock Co., Illinois. He recorded happenings in Nauvoo in 1842 and 1844, which were copied into the journal of Wilford Woodruff. He died 27 Feb. 1878 in Provo, Utah Co., Utah Territory.
