John Smith, b. 1832
John Smith (1832-1911) was born 22 Sep. 1832 in Kirtland, Geauga Co., Ohio. He was the son of Hyrum Smith and Jerusha Barden. He married Hellen Maria Fisher on 25 Dec. 1853 in Great Salt Lake City, Great Salt Lake Co., Utah Territory; participated in plural marriage. He was baptized in 1841. He worked closely with Wilford Woodruff in his role as Patriarch of the Church from 1855 until Wilford's death in 1898. He died 6 Nov. 1911 in Salt Lake City.
