John Whitmer

John Whitmer (1802-1878) was born 27 Aug. 1802 in Pennsylvania. He was the son of Peter Whitmer Sr. and Mary Musselman. He married Sarah Maria Jackson on 10 Feb. 1833. He was baptized in New York. He interacted with Wilford Woodruff as Church Historian, a member of the Presidency of the Church in Missouri, and as editor of the Messenger and Advocate in Kirtland, Geauga Co., Ohio. He died 11 Jul. 1878 in Far West, Caldwell Co., Missouri.
