Joseph Duncan
1794-1844
Joseph Duncan (1794-1844) was born 22 Feb. 1794 in Paris, Bourbon Co., Kentucky. He was the son of Joseph Duncan and Anna Maria McLaughlin. He married Elizabeth Caldwell Smith on 13 May 1828. He was the governor of Illinois from 1834 to 1838 and worked with Wilford Woodruff during that time. He died 5 Jan. 1844 in Jacksonville, Morgan Co., Illinois.
