Joseph Mott Benedict

Joseph Mott Benedict (1844-1896) was born 29 Apr. 1844 in North Canaan, Litchfield Co., Connecticut. He was the son of Francis K. Benedict and Emeline Mott. He married Sarah E. Pierson on 5 Jun. 1867 in Union, Hudson Co., New Jersey. He was a physician for Wilford Woodruff's daughter-in-law, Julia Spencer Woodruff, and Wilford Woodruff witnessed some of his medical procedures. He died 24 Jul. 1896 in Salt Lake City, Salt Lake Co., Utah.
