Lewis Cass

Lewis Cass (1782-1866) was born 9 Oct. 1782 in Exeter, Rockingham Co., New Hampshire. He was the son of Jonathan Cass and Mary Gilman. He married Elizabeth Spencer in 1806. He ran for President of the United States in 1844, and Wilford Woodruff mentioned the event in his journal. He died 17 Jun. 1866 in Detroit, Wayne Co., Michigan.
