Mary Brown Hammond
1826-1848
Mary Brown Hammond (1826-1848) was born 22 Sep. 1826 in Davidson Co., North Carolina. She was the daughter of Daniel Brown and Elizabeth Stephens. She married Lyman J. Hammond on 7 Dec. 1845 in Brown Co., Illinois, and they had one child. She was baptized in 1842. She died 22 Feb. 1848 in Winter Quarters (later Omaha, Douglas Co., Nebraska), and Wilford Woodruff gave a sermon at her home following her death.
