Mary Wheeler Luce Wickens

Mary Wheeler Luce Wickens (1801-1879) was born 31 Aug. 1801 in Harpswell, Cumberland Co., Maine. She was the daughter of David Wheeler and Mary Clark. She married Stephen Luce on 6 Mar. 1824 in Vinalhaven, Hancock Co., Maine, and they had nine children; widowed 28 Apr. 1872. She was sealed to James Wickens. She and her husband hosted Wilford Woodruff on 7 Aug. 1838, and the death of two of their sons was mentioned by Wilford Woodruff in his journal on 22 Aug. 1841. She died 26 Oct. 1879 in Salt Lake City, Salt Lake Co., Utah Territory.
