Note: In his autobiographical history, Wilford Woodruff referred to nine children of Josiah Woodruff and Sarah Woodford: "Josiah, Appleton, Eldad Elisha, Joseph, Roda, Phebe & 2 names not given. One of his daughters married married a Chase the other a man by the name of North." Original sources indicate that Josiah and Sarah had ten children: Josiah, Appleton, Eldad, Elisha, Joseph, 2 named Phebe, Lydia who married a Case, Sarah who married a North, and Obedience. Other than Wilford Woodruff's autobiographical history, no evidence of a child named Rhoda has been found, while clear evidence of a child named Obedience has been found. The evidence supports that Wilford Woodruff mistakenly wrote Rhoda instead of Obedience in his autobiographical history. Obedience had a child named Rhoda, so it is possible that Wilford Woodruff switched their names.
