Philomela Smith Smith Lake (1794-1873) was born 13 Apr. 1794 in Brookfield, Orange Co., Vermont. She was the daughter of Parker Smth and Sarah Loomis. She married Ira Smith on 2 Feb. 1812, and they had five children; widowed 22 Apr. 1820. She married James Lake Jr. on 3 Sep. 1823 in Ernestown, Lennox and Addington Co., Upper Canada, British North America, and they had ten children. She was baptized 1823 in Ernestown. She received temple ordinances from Wilford Woodruff on 13 Aug. 1867 in Great Salt Lake City, Great Salt Lake Co., Utah Territory. She died 20 Mar. 1873 in Oxford, Oneida Co., Idaho Territory.
