Rhoda Farnham Carter Scammans

Rhoda Farnham Carter Scammans (Scammon) (1809-1896) was born 13 Mar. 1809 in Scarborough, Cumberland Co., Maine. She was the daughter of Ezra Carter Jr. and Sarah Fabyan and a sister of Phebe Whittemore Carter, who married Wilford Woodruff. She married Luther Scammans on 21 Oct. 1837 in Scarborough, and they had six children. She died 23 Dec. 1896 in Cherokee, Crawford Co., Kansas.
