Robert Clift (1790-1876) was born 29 Sep. 1790 in Sarden, Oxfordshire, England. He was the son of William Clift and Ann. He married Elizabeth Cantle on 26 Nov. 1812 in Clifton, Gloucestershire, England; widowed. He married Margaret Wynne Topen (Topin) on 5 Apr. 1851 in Davenport, Scott Co., Iowa. He was baptized by Wilford Woodruff on 18 May 1840 in Dymock, Gloucestershire, England. He died 13 Dec. 1876 in Davenport, Scott Co., Iowa.
