Samuel Chase

Samuel Chase (1741-1811) was born 17 Apr. 1741 in Princess Anne, Somerset Co., Maryland, British Colonial America. He was the son of Thomas Chase and Mathilda Walker. He married Ann Baldwin on 2 May 1762 in Anne Arundel Co., Maryland, British Colonial America; widowed in 1776. He married Hannah Kitty Giles in 1784. He died 20 Jun. 1811 in Annapolis, Anne Arundel Co., Maryland. He was a signer of the Declaration of Independence and one of the eminent men for whom Wilford Woodruff initiated proxy temple ordinance work in Aug. 1877.
