Samuel Ensign

Samuel Ensign (1805-1885) was born 24 May 1805 in Westfield, Hampden Co., Massachusetts. He was the son of Isaac Ensign and Lydia Noble. He married Mary E. Gordon on 29 Nov. 1832 in Granby, Hartford Co., Connecticut; participated in plural marriage. He opened his home for Wilford Woodruff to preach on 7 Sep. 1843 in Westfield and 20 Dec. 1846 in Nauvoo, Hancock Co., Illinois. He died 24 Jun. 1885 in Salt Lake City, Salt Lake Co., Utah Territory.
