He married Elizabeth Jervis on 9 Jul. 1735 in Derby, Derbyshire, England. He died 13 Dec. 1784 in London, Middlesex, England. He was one of the eminent men for whom Wilford Woodruff initiated proxy temple ordinance work in Aug. 1877.
