Samuel Merrill
Samuel Merrill (1780-1878) was born about 24 Sep. 1780 in Simsbury, Hartford Co., Connecticut. He was the son of Jared Merrill and Abigail Phelps. He married Phoebe Odell in Sep. 1802 in Whitestown, Oneida Co., New York; participated in plural marriage. He was ordained a Patriarch on 7 May 1873 as recorded in Wilford Woodruff's journal. He died 28 Sep. 1878 in Salt Lake City, Salt Lake Co., Utah Territory.
