Sengbe Pieh
Sengbe Pieh (Joseph Cinqué (Cinquez)) (abt. 1814-unk.) was born about 1814 in Mani in present-day Sierra Leone, Africa. He met with Wilford Woodruff on 6 Aug. 1841 in the African School established in Farmington, Hartford Co., Connecticut, for the formerly enslaved Mende people who revolted against their captors on the Amistad.
