Stephen Hopkins

Stephen Hopkins (1707-1785) was born 7 Mar. 1707 in Providence, Providence Co., Rhode Island, British Colonial America. He was the son of William Hopkins and Ruth Wilkinson. He married Sarah Scott in 1726 in Providence; widowed in 1753. He married Ann Smith in 1755. He died 13 Jul. 1785 in Providence. He was a signer of the Declaration of Independence and one of the eminent men for whom Wilford Woodruff initiated proxy temple ordinance work in Aug. 1877.
