Stephen Luce

Stephen Luce (1801-1872) was born 10 Jul. 1801 in Vinalhaven, Hancock Co., Maine. He was the son of Malatiah Luce and Ruth Grant. He married Mary Wheeler on 6 Mar. 1824 in Vinalhaven; participated in plural marriage. He was baptized before 14 Jan. 1838. He frequently hosted Wilford Woodruff in 1837 and 1838, and he kept in contact with Phebe Whittemore Carter Woodruff in Nauvoo, Hancock Co., Illinois. He died 28 Apr. 1872 in Salt Lake City, Salt Lake Co., Utah Territory.
