Thomas Cartwright

Thomas Cartwright (1814-1873) was born 23 Dec. 1814 and christened in Chester, Cheshire, England. He was the son of Joseph Cartwright and Jane. He married Sarah Yates on 25 Sep. 1836 in Standish, Lancashire, England; widowed 23 Nov. 1843. He married Jane Allen on 2 Jun. 1844 in Liverpool, Lancashire, England; participated in plural marriage. He was baptized 6 Nov. 1843. He served as Presiding Elder from 1848 to 1850 in New York, at Wilford Woodruff's recommendation. He died 9 Jan. 1873.
