Thomas Heyward

Thomas Heyward Jr. (1746-1809) was born 28 Jul. 1746 in St. Helena Parish, Granville Co., South Carolina, British Colonial America. He was the son of Daniel Heyward and Maria Miles. He married Elizabeth Mathews on 20 Apr. 1773 in South Carolina, British Colonial America; widowed in 1782. He married Susanna Savage in May 1786 in South Carolina. He died 17 Apr. 1809 in St. Luke's Parish, Beaufort Co., South Carolina. He was a signer of the Declaration of Independence and one of the eminent men for whom Wilford Woodruff initiated proxy temple ordinance work in Aug. 1877.
