Washington Irving (1783-1859) was born 3 Apr. 1783 in New York City, New York Co., New York. He was the son of William Irving and Sarah Saunders. He died 28 Nov. 1859 in Irvington, Westchester Co., New York. He was one of the eminent men for whom Wilford Woodruff initiated proxy temple ordinance work in Aug. 1877.
