Daybook (31 December 1835 - 3 January 1837)
7th Sold one Book of mormon's & Rode to Owenton, Owen County, K.Y on the day of the
election to vote for President &c. at first they endeavor'd to Deprive Elder Smoot & my-
self from voting beecause we were strangers but after employing some Judges &
Col J. Rowlett in our favor We gave our vote for Mr Vanburen for President &
Col R. M. Johnson for Vice President We then returned to Mr Reed. Smoots & spent the
night with hism distance of the day 16 miles
