October 20, 1843 ~ Friday

20th The boat I was on was the Robroy owned
& commanded by Capt Bennett of the line of
Gregg & Bellows & Co we saw the captains
farm & stoped 30 minutes at it we passed through
the tunnel on the canal under a mountain
900 feet long arched overhead
