April 03, 1845 ~ Thursday

3rd An arrow Rumours of wars are again herd
through the land as ^the^ American government
have annexed Texas to the United States &
the rumor now is that there is a prospect
of England Joining Mexico in a war with
the United States. Theis govenmen[t] have
stop the steem ship that was to go out on
the 4th untill further orders this created
quite an excitement among the captains of
the American ships, but the probable
detention is to send expresses to the british
minister at Washington I mailed my letter
to day to B. Young A folded letter/box I recieved one letter 4 m[iles]
