I retired to rest at night or sought for it but found it not for I was much troubled in spirit, about sever[al] things I do not recieve that union & kind treatment from my councellors that I ought to recieve at there. they do not consider my place & standing & sustain me in it in the way they ought, & are not united with me with that union that belongs to the Law of the Celestial kingdom this grieves me in spirit for the judgme- nts are about to be poured out upon the Nations and we ought to be prepared & have no divisions among us I arose at midnight & called upon the Lord by supplica- tion according to the Holy Priesthood And the Lord manifested somethings unto me 4

Letter from Brigham Young, 21 August 1845
City of Joseph To W. Woodruff, Dear Brother; Once more I write to communicate to you our situation, and progress; and how the Lord has blessed us. We have been remarka[b]ly blessed with health, this season, and there has been very little sickness this season, and the Brethren have been enabled to labor remarkably; and they have raised grain enough to support twice the amount of inhabitants, besides, they have labored wonderfully on the Temple and Nauvoo House. The Temple is up, the shingles all on, the tower raised and nearly ready to put the dome up ^22nd the dome will be raised up tomorrow^. The joiners are now at work finishing off the inside, and within two months we shall have some rooms prepared to commence the endowment. The joiners will be enable to finish the inside work during the winter. The committee of the Nauvoo House are driving that building on briskley. They have got their brick now ready, also their lime sand and timber. The trustees and committee being satisfied that Brother L. Woodworth was not a suitable man to go a head and do justice to such a building, therefore he was droped and Brother Wicks appointed architect of the house. The masons have commenced work and in two months the walls will be complete, and the roof will go on this fall, and be ready for the inside work which the joiners will comm- ence soon as they finish the Temple. The mobocrats begin to tremble, and make preparations for leaving this county and we pray the Lord to speed their flight. The Brethren have gathered in almost by thousands this season, and are still coming from all parts. Your little boy that lives with brother Benboe is well. Their were fifty two of us
