23rd [FIGURES] I received 5 letters from E. Carter Heywood John
Druce
Wm Walker, & C & [E] Scholy. I wrote [blank] Letters to Wm Low C. E. Brown Wm Walker. The Steamer arived this evening & brought
Professor Pratt from Liverpool He arived at my house in
the evening we sat up at a late hour conversing upon the the
things of the kingdom of God.

On the Professor Orson Pratt arrived from Liverpool where he had been presiding over the British Mission and we sat up together late conversing upon the business of the Kingdom Next day we went into the city of Boston together and met Erastus Snow and George B. Wallace and in the afternoon we met with the Saints and Erastus Snow gave an account of the dealings of the Lord with the brethren in the Valley and concerning the cricket war which had sorely tried the people Elder Orson Pratt followed and spoke much to our edification.
