March 20, 1881 ~ Sunday

20 Sunday I met the priesthood at 9 oclok I spoke to them
for 30 M[inutes] others spoke we met at 10:30. Br Terry prayed
W W set apart Br Irons as first councillor W W orda[in]ed 1 H

. 13 were set apart. F. M. Lyman spoke 30 M John
Henry Smith
25. We dined at Susies Gates Afternoon
^we ordained Jacob F Gates to the office of a seventy W W was mouth^
George Teasdale spoke 25 M B Young 30 M, & W Woodruff
spoke 30 M. We took supper at Henry W Irins & returned
to the Temple & spent the Evening I receivd 3 copies of my
History Published By the Jovinile Instructor offace & a
card & Paper we read them

Pres Woodroof showed the great work of the Millenium That thousands of Temples would be built and the redemption of the dead would go on with great rapidity until the whole of Adams posterity wear were officiated who had died with out the knowledge of the gospel and the son of God would present the kingdom to his Father with all that he had given him except the Sons of Perdition, Said the coming of the son of Man was nigh even at the doors and that there were thossands liveng in these mountain at this time that would see the son of God come and many woul[d] not taste death. Spoke of the importance of the young living near to God and seeking earnestly to qualify themselve for the great duties that awaited them for the Burthen of the kingdom would shortly rest upon their shoulders, exhorted them to observe the words of Wisdom, and not impair ther vitality and deprive themselves of doing that good that God re would require at their hands
