December 02, 1882 ~ Saturday

Dec 2nd we took cars rode to Provo. 10 Miles. We Met for a 2 days ^10 Mils^
Meeting F M Lyman Prayed. After Meeting was opened the
statistics of the stake was read. There were 2 Patriarch
5674 Seventies, 389 High Priest, 1331 Elders, 184 Priests
132 Teachers 393 Deacons, 11071 officers & members, children
under 8 years, 4858. Total of souls 15939. There was reported
in this stake that bore the Priesthood 3025 D. H. Wells spoke 47 Minuts
B Young 40 M[inutes]. Afternoon J F Smith Prayed F M. Lyman
spoke 35 M[inutes], W Woodruff 50 M[inutes]. we held a mpriesthood
Meeting in the Evening, the House was full in the Lower part
Brigham Young spoke 30 M[inutes], W Woodruff spoke 30 M[inutes]
[FIGURE] The power of God rested upon me I felt wraped in the
visions of heaven. I never deliverd such a speech in my
life. I never before saw the Priesthood in the same light I do not
know what I said But I know I spoke the truth I was followed


By Joseph F Smith who spoke 40 Minuts we were all clothed
with the power of God and strong testimony was Delivered

Prest Willford Woodruff followed, referring to the great advantages the Latter day Saints of the present age had over all the people to whom God had previously manifested himself and the Gospel. more Revelations were given, more inspired men lived to instruct the people—which together with the easy access to the inspired works, the Bible, Book of Mormon, and Doctrine and Covenants, made a combination of instruction that no other people had prior to the present day.

Dear President Woodruff Your esteemed favor of 27th ultimo duly received. The perusal caus- ed joy, and thanksgiving to the Lord, for the news that the servants of God are turning their attention and labors to the rem- nants of Jacob. Praise be to God! Thanks to President Tay- lor and yourself and the brethren for the grant of sup- plies. The orders will no doubt arrive in due time stating what offices we are to draw grain from.
