a Note {for five hundred dollars} And B. H. Shetler I received

Three Mile Creek . Wilford Woodruff Dear Bro. I left home Nov 5 1884 for a mission to the Southern States arrived in Chattanooga Nov 12, and was appointed by Bro. B. H. Roberts to labor in Logan Co. W. Va. in connection with Bro. Thomas Vickers. We found many kind hearted friends. I baptised seven, confirmed six, ordained one priest, blessed four children, and assisted in baptising eight more. We met with some opposition in the way of threats, notices, etc. and was warned to leave the county under penalty of death but the Lord overuled all things for our good so that none of their threats was carried into effect Bro Vicker was relised Oct 18, 1885 I labored the remainder of my time with Bro. Joseph Moulton I traveled about 2,000 miles, enjoyed the blessings of health & gained a valuable experience I was unabled to call and report as I
