Letters 3 Public 2 Private signed 23 Recommends to the Temple
23 We heard a report of Franklin S Richards concerning
his visit East Wms & J W Young made a Mistake in
Employing McDonald & Butler we supposed they had Employed
them to Defend the church case before the Courts But we had
to make a New Bargan with them in order to Employ
them for that purpose

Letter from George Teasdale, 21 September 1887

President Woodruff and members of the Apostles. Dear Brethren: On my visit to Wales in conversation with Bro. James Lewis he expressed a desire that his son Prest T. D. Lewis of the 16th Ward whose address is 636 1st South St West Salt Lake City, should have the pri velege of a mission to this country. I mention the same for your consideration. In the Barnsley Independent of Saturday 17th inst a paper published in Yorkshire and where quite an excitement occured through some (25) twenty five persons embracing the gospel, there is a letter from Mrs Ford once the wife of the notorious [J]arman I will send you a copy directed to George Reynolds or rather Bro. F. D. Richards at the Historians Office [T]he "news in a nutshell" is the following—"After an inquiry which established the fact that the Mormons are recruited from Switzerland, and that therefore the complaints of the United States Government ar[e] justified, the Federal Council has received from the Berne Cantonal Government a dem- [an]d that any Mormon propaganda in Swit- [zer]land shall be prohibited." Letter to James McKnight, 21 September 1887

Bishop James Mc Knight, Minersville. Dear Brother: Your letter of Sept 2nd concerning your daughter who died some four years ago and left three children, and asking what will be ^the^ best course for you to pursue to carry out her requests, has been received and considered. You say that your daughter was married to a young man named George Rollins, but she had separ- ated from him over a year before she died on account of his dissolute character and course of life &c That he was baptized into the Church when about eight years old, and that they were not sealed by the authority of the Priest- hood and he has not shown any sign of reformation since her death; and at her request and since her death
