Dear Brother
Please pardon
me for the liberty I take in infringing
upon thyour valuable and precious time.
We are here in the wilderness
where we do not have the privilege
of meeting the Apostles and by writing
is the only means we have in communi-
cating with you.
I am pleased to state that the health
of our colony is excellent and the saints
here feel well in spirits. We were favored
last Thursday (the 17th) with the addition of
two more families. Bros. Joseph Ricks and
John Roberts of ^Rexberg Idaho,^ with each a wife and five
children, which makes an addition of 14 to
our settlement. Now we number 67 souls
ten whole families, just half enough to give
us the privilege of living in a town without
interfering with the validity of our home-
stead entries. We are now building in a
town or upon garden lots as we call them with
the view of petitioning the Sec'y of the Interior
to sanction the course we have taken, that
