To Prest Woodruff and the
Apostles:
I see by tonights news the posi-
tion taken by yourselves as regards
the tract issued by me.
I can only say, in palliation of
my offense, that Satan deceived
me, and actually caused me to
suppose I had a mission to cir-
culate the said tract, and I
verily thought I was doing the
Lords service in the matter.
Oh that I had taken counsel of
Prest Woodruff in time.
I wish what nominal standing
I have in the Church to remain
with me to the end, and I therefore
tender my willingness to make such
sacrifice as the Twelve see fit to put
