Dear Brother
Your very instructive
letter bearing date of Feb. 15 came to hand
nearly one month ago. My reasons for defering
the answer are that the Ry Agent with whom
I have been confering in relation to purchas
ing land has been absent for about two
months and I have just received a note from
him that he would be home shortly.
I feel it unwise to defer communicating
with you longer as there are other important
matters that I desire to advise you of.
You ask how much money myself and
friends that are here could furnish towards
the proposed purchase. I will state that all
who are here are settled on government land
and have all ^the Land^ they will require at present.
My proposition would be simply this,
that the Church purchase 2 or 3 sections
in different townships of land for the
purpose of Locating towns upon and we can
get it on time if desired. However I think it
best to pay down for the tracts we want, then
lay out our townsites and sell the lots to the
