Salt Lake City, U. T. . Elder Charles G. Curtis, Luna, Socorro Co, N.M. Dear Brother: Your letter of April 23rd, representing your circumstances and wishes to move from your present location, has been received. In consideration thereof, it has been decided that you have permission to leave the settlement where you now reside, with the understanding that you move your family to a settlement of the Saints, as you desire, in a warmer climate. Of course, it will be necessary for you to obtain and take with you a proper recommend for yourself and family, so that you can be identified with the Saints where you locate. With kind regards, Your brother, W Woodruff

John Bloomfield, who has agreed to herd for $1.50 per head for year ending Nov 1st next. My agreement contemplates our geting him a cheese Vat and out-fit for use this season which will cost about $150.00 for the use of which he is to give the Company 1/4 of the cheese made, which sells from $30.00 to 35.00 per hundred, and which if the company will not furnish may be obtained otherwise: as it will clear its way. The stock herd ought to be enlarged as there is plenty of range for more; or those on hand disposed off, as the same cost of herding would care for a thousand head. There were 3236 head of sheep placed on the Ranche last October, they looked well until December, when they commenced lambing and continued so all through the winter, up to
