St George, . Presidents Wilford Woodruff, and George Q. Cannon, Salt Lake City. Dear Brethren: Your letter of 2nd inst. inclosing Bro. Richd Morris' of 11th Dec 1889 duly received In relation to Bro. Morris' expression that the people are looking to him to lead out in the matter of again getting the water into the Washington Field, we find on enquiry, that the Stockholders know nothing of any such application as the one made to you, and while they are willing to give Brother Morris full credit for doing his own part among them as a fellow laborer, they have not chosen him as a leader, to "lead out", nor as a representative of their interests in that field. Dear Sirs permite me to say that I have more in my minds eye than I can put on paper with pen and ink, which can only be showen by book and map, in regard to the subject befor me. therefore I am willing to be tested by the greatest critics in the church upon the geography of the city and land of Zarahemla. And its surround ings, the reading of books, lectures in papers upon the above subject which I have read, not withstanding.
