Letter from Lars Christian Rasmusson, 28 September 1890

President Wilford Woodruf, S. L. City, Dear Brother: Your letter of Sept. 23, was a great surprise to me, as I had not been spoken to until I received your letter. I feel like honoring the call; but owing to circum- stances, and the shorte notice I cannot leave at the time stated. As, I am jurst intending to enter upon the sea of matrimony, and have comenced to build a home, I do not think it wisdom to let and the material go to ruin. Besides I could not feel content to go without getting married, and placing my wife in a home, and it would be impossablel to have it done by that time. Probably by extending the time a month, that I might get ready, if it could be jurst as convenient in traveling and answer the purpos. Pleas let me know imediately. I remain your humble servent. L. C. Rasmussen. P. S. You will remember my mission was to Australia and leave Sanfrancisco on the 15th of November. C. N. Lund, Bp:

If it is not asking to much of you, I would like to have my mission changed to the old country. My reasons are, that I have a great many relatinons there, that has never herd the sound of the Gospel. There-for I would like to have my mission changed. That I might visit among my relations, and hunt up the genoleoligy & our family.
