Letter from George Teasdale, 14 June 1891
Colonia Diaz, President Wilford Woodruff, Salt Lake City, Utah. My Beloved Brother: There being no Sabbath School this morning, in consequence of the sickness amongst us, I sit down to have an old fashioned chat with you, of a personal nature. To tell you what I am doing and how things are here generally. I need not say how disappointed I have been because you were unable to pay us a visit, and I have the happiness of telling you face to face what I am going to try to do on paper. When we came here, we stayed at Sister Almira Hendricks for a few weeks, and then we moved into two rooms of Bro. Sulivan C. Richardsons house. He and family were away from Colonia Diaz visiting relatives & friends in Arizona & New Mexico. When they returned, we moved into one room, which was kindly placed at our disposal, by Bro. E. M. Curtis, who was staying in a two room- ed house he was renting. This house was for sale and after a time it was about to be sold and to save myself having to move again, or be out of doors I thought it to secure a shelter for my self and folks. We had no furniture but had borrowed some until we could get some. Bro. Curtis' folks removing gave us the two rooms by which we were made more comfortable and we commenced getting some furniture. We went on a visit to Colonia Juarez and the upper settlements, and Sister Etty took quite a liking to Juarez and preferred to live there. So we made inquiries as to how we could obtain a home in Juarez it being more central
