President Wilford Woodruff Dear Brother At a high council meeting held Feb 2nd 1894, The name of Elijah Pearce was presented to consider his worthiness for the ^his^ restoration to the Priesthood His reccomendation was endorsed by his Bishop and counselors. Bro Pearce was cut off the church 9 years ago for lacivious conduct. 5 years ago he was permitted to be baptized, and since then has manifested a repentant spirit. The council were unanimous in the opinion that he should recieve the Priesthood and presented the decision to [Preat] Feldstead of the seventies, as Bro Pearce was a seventy prior to being dealt with. I have now recieved a letter from the secretary of the council of seventies, saying that it could not be done without special permit from you. I therefore submit the matter

In reply will say that I am willing to go and with the help of the Lord will do the best I can, although I feel my weakness and inability to perform so important a labor. Lehi, . President Woodruff, Salt Lake City, Dear Bro. Yours of the 6th inst. in regard to my appointment to a mission to Great Britton, came today. The notification was a surprise but I am always willing to give my aid to God's work in whichever way he desires. At present I have not the money to go but believe that I can secure it by the 21st of April, the time you set for my de- parture. Not knowing of any other ofbsticle in my way
