March 14, 1894
I rode down North Temple street to Silvers to see
A New Pump. The Meintype inundater Force Pump, set in
the stream of water & pumps 1500 gal in a Minute I received
a good Letter from Owen to Ovando & Clara it was
an Excellent Letter I was much pleased with the
spirit He manifests we took supper

1894 San Bernardino Cal. Mch. 14th Pres. W. W. Woodruff Salt Lake City, Utah. Ter. Dear Brother, You are no doubt already aware of the fact that Apostle F. M. Lyman and Elder B. H. Roberts of your church commenced a series of meetings, in the chapel belonging to the Reor- ganized church at this place, on or about the 20th ult. which was freely profered them by the officers & members of said church; and for the use of said house, Elders Lyman & Roberts very emphatically expressed their thanks in behalf of the church to which they belong, and just as emphatically promised to use their influence in behalf of the traveling & local ministry of the

To the First Presidency Dear Brethren: We regret that our circumstances are such as to call forth the request contained in the body of this letter, but it becomes our duty so to do. The matter is with reference to our Stake Academy. It has been in active operation, five years, this being the sixth. Each year the expenses have been a little more than the income, until now we are $750 behind. This is about the amount, that we have lost on the "Produce orders" as appropriations made by the Church which were paid (out of) ^by^ the Tithing- offisce. It was brought about in this way. The Tithing-office would take the produce in at so high a price that it couldn't be cashed without losing
